It’s always a exciting when the indie rock and electronic music world collide…and in this circumstance, a light jungle vibe is added to make one hell of a tune! Both Jagwar Ma and Flight Facilities come from the sunny continent of Australia. We have been seeing some extremely innovative producers emerge from this place, and we can give a big hand to the Future Classic label for this! The boys behind Flight Facilities are Hugo Stuart Gruzman and Jimmy Nathan Lyell. They have made their mark on the electronic world with “Crave You” and “I Didn’t Believe.” Now, they take on a remix of Jagwar Ma, and it is the closest thing to a light, playful day in the Amazon Forest as one could imagine. Although Gabriel Winterfield, the frontman of Jagwar Ma, sings about the conflicted interests of being in love, the melody is bright and whimsical. Steelpan drums flirt with vocals of native folk and bird chirps while the bass line reminds us of something that came may have jumped straight out of the Jungle Book. Clever and light hearted, Flight Facilities nails this rework of the original.
