Dutch phenomenon, Hardwell, releases one of the most anticipated tracks of the year, “Countdown” with MAKJ, which is OUT NOW via his label Revealed Recordings. After releasing his firing edit of Blasterjaxx’s “Fifteen,” he quickly turns around an exhilarating new original in collaboration with the Los Angeles-based rising star, MAKJ. Ever since “Countdown” was dropped during his acclaimed set at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Hardwell has established the song as a peak-time secret weapon in his performances all summer, thus becoming one of his most highly anticipated tracks.
Backed up by a ticking countdown 10 days prior to release, the track has since grown a viral life of its very own, thanks to items like the teaser video that shows the sold-out Go Hardwell Or Go Home event at the Palladium in Los Angeles, which saw MAKJ as support. This new collaborative single is gathering pace at such a rate that Hardwell could well be heading for his 6th straight consecutive Beatport #1 single.
Hardwell pairs with the burgeoning talent, MAKJ, to foster an explosive new sound that has been tested and proven throughout this year. “Countdown” takes shape with a soft melody line that opens up to a lush chorus of synth strings on top of drums. A brief pause passes and the countdown ensues, raising anticipation for the drop and creating a strong sense of euphoria. Then the hard kicks and horn-like synth burst through with brute force taking the energy level to new heights. Following the main segment, it reaches a super charged climax as the second drop moves in with an added synth for full effect. The fact that “Countdown” has been one of the most buzzed about tracks over the past six months and earmarked as one of the biggest dancefloor bombs at TomorrowWorld is a testament to Hardwell’s signature, festival anthem sound that has been manifested at its fundamental core time and time again.
