In the middle of producing his new album, glitch-hop maestro Gramatik decided to go ahead and release 46 minutes worth of hip-hop sample beats he unearthed while rummaging through his “digital basement.” The only problem is that it’s usually not a great idea to describe these beats as the “ones that the snobby part of my fanbase can’t stop crying about.”
That said, he did take to Facebook hours later, remarking “if you get butthurt over sarcasm, you are a SNOB.” Something tells me that’ll do little to put people at ease, but the amazing samples (that he says will be available for a free download soon) do speak for themselves.
If you’re looking for a way to add some soulful hip-hop/instrumental samples into your latest remix, or just some nice glitch-hoppy background noise we recommend you take a listen. If you remember anything about his face-melting Paradiso set, you know it’ll be more than worth your time.
Also don’t forget, Gramatik’s “Age of Reason” Fall tour will be passing through the Northwest in the next few months. You can check him out live either in Portland on November 14th, or Seattle the very next day.
