Really Good Christmas with Mat the Alien and The Librarian (Vancouver)

As we wind down to the end of the 2016 and slide into the holiday season, one show announcement has us feeling good… REALLY GOOD! One of our favorite venues in Canada will be hosting a night full of beats, bass, and plenty of vibes. Coming to The Red Room in Vancouver on December 10th is the Really Good Christmas with Mat the Alien and The Librarian. Make no mistake, however, this isn’t your ordinary Saturday night out. Paired with a food drive, the Really Good Christmas aims to take in donations for the local food bank.

We’ll tell you that anytime you get the opportunity to see both Mat and Andrea on stage together, you should take it. The pair vibe so well that you’ll likely be in store for some amazing b2b action. You’ll be hearing everything from UK grime, dancehall, bass, hip hop, and who knows what else with these two. They both have such an incredibly deep list of tracks no set is ever the same!

Andrea Graham (The Librarian) has been making noise in the PNW for the better part of the decade. Co-founder of British Columbia’s bass music festival, Bass Coast, she’s certainly no stranger to the Vancouver area. Andrea just has a way with music, a sophisticated touch to a refined taste in classic bangers and exclusive drops. We’ve had the opportunity to catch her twice this year at both Bass Coast and Shambhala, and each time we couldn’t keep our lighters down. If you aren’t familiar with her sound, check out her NorthMix for Thump.

Starting to mix, scratch, and produce at just 14, Mat has undoubtedly made music a part of his life. With a variety of styles and sets spanning pretty much every genre and tempo, he’s certainly one of the most versatile DJ’s we’ve seen perform. This year alone, Mat performed 3 different sets at Shambhala, not to mention his early morning Bass Coast set and a host of others across Canada and the US. Taking his sets to another level is Mat’s incredible scratching skill, just one more thing that makes him enjoyable. The combination of heavy bass lines, massive tunes, and his pure style that creates such a memorable set for us. This 2015 Bass Coast mix was an instant classic the day it was played and has certainly heard a few goes on our stereo.

The Really Good Christmas is shaping up to be, well…REALLY GOOD! With a lineup like this you can expect to feel right back Radio Stage from Bass Coast or The Living Room from Shambhala. These shows always bring out the best of what Vancouver has to offer in terms of both music and its scene. Be sure you pick up your tickets now before they sell out, and don’t forget to grab your Santa hats and ugly sweaters. Digital Motion and Red Room will be handing out prizes all night!
