A good rave crew is made up of a wide variety of personalities all coming together to boogie down to some kickin’ tunes. Or maybe you’re just there to get weird with a bunch of strangers. That’s at least half the fun, right? It’s certainly what some people enjoy doing at raves, as people still bought tickets to Lucky, despite no lineup released yet. Either way, everyone in your group surely has their own preferences. So how do you decide where to stand and gyrate?
Maybe the following excerpts from the mind of your average raver will help you decide.

“Those guys in the back don’t know what they’re missing! We are here to see the DJs, right? You gotta get up close and see them bust a move on the decks. And yes, I do love being slammed against that railing. Thank you sir, may I have another?! But I’m SO CLOSE to this DJ! I can almost touch him…holy shit…did he just look into my eyes?? Hmmm, this song is not really doing it for me…am I allowed to be bored at the front? Nevermind, there’s a camera, I am fucking RAGING! Best night of my life! Woooooo! Lasers!”

“Being in the middle is where it’s at, center of everything, totally symmetrical. I can interact with the crowd and listen to the music with the best view of the stage…wait, seriously dude? Do you really need to put that girl on your shoulders? Great, now I can’t see a damn thing. Ugh, fine, I’ll just move in front of them a bit…woah, where’d this wall of people come from? I can’t see over their cell phones. And why is it so damn hot?! Mega Dance Productions should really turn up the A/C at their events. And I have no room to dance, did they oversell this event? Fuck it, this guy looks cool; let’s talk about random shit for 30 minutes. Dude, did you see these lasers?!”

“Screw the rest of ya’ll I’m staying back here, right next to the sound guy. This is the only place with enough room to dance/spin my poi/hula-hoop anyways. There are too many people here, wow! Ooooo lasers…shit, where are my friends? And why does it need to be so cold back here, MDP needs to turn up the heat! Burrr….oh, sweet a pile of strangers to lay on. Mmmm warmth…”
The answer to the question is undoubtedly: everywhere. Each section has its ups and its downs and if you want the fullest experiences, make your rave an adventure. But that’s just us, what do you think?
