RADAR: Exploring the deeper, darker and techier side of EDM, debuts tonight at Kremwerk in Seattle. This new event series brought to us by VIVA Recordings will feature headlining production and performance duo SLUMBER (Berlin, SF), as they work to transcend their own dreamlike world in the inaugural edition of this night of techno. To dance with Slumber is to perceive the infinite archetypal projections precociously at play … to imbibe the ritual rebirth in ecstatic dance, and to remember that which you never knew was lost.
Oona Dahl and Amber Cox formed SLUMBER in Tampa, FL seven years ago from a mutual passion for electronic music. Influenced by artists such as CoCoRosie and Bjork, SLUMBER has arrived to provide a soundtrack of Melodic Techno, House, and Ambient in rhythmic overture. With support from Eugene Fauntleroy (Weird Room) and Justin Collins (VIVA Recordings), the premier of RADAR is set to transform and guide us through the unconsciousness as we slowly slip into dream-space.
After two years, Kremwerk is quickly becoming the premier venue for curious dancers to explore, experiment, and experience an exotic side of electronic dance music. Past events such as Research: Adventurous Dance Music have brought some of the biggest names (Mike Huckaby, Gunnar Haslam) in the underground dance music scene to Seattle. By cultivating a culture where consent is strictly enforced, the bathrooms are gender-neutral, and signs are posted reminding you not to use your cell phone on the dance floor; this ultra-modern and intimate setting will certainly facilitate fluid consciousness and cosmic interplay at RADAR.
