Tacoma-native Ramon Jones, also known as R0ME, has released his second EP in as many months. The two-track work, entitled Winter Solstice, was released on December 21st, the official Winter solstice. Marking the beginning of Winter in style, R0ME shows off his lighter side in the follow up to debut work Brainstorm. We enjoyed his debut EP as much as anyone, but Winter Solstice is the response that shows us that R0ME has the versatility to stick around for more than a minute.
Brainstorm, released in November, was a bass-infused combination of trap, dubstep, drum & bass, and more. R0ME has had an impressive last few months, coupling his high-quality productions with big-time performances. He performed alongside Seattle’s Treyis while opening for Kill The Noise at the Seattle stop of the ‘Majestic As Fak’ tour and also played at the Bass Asylum stage on the first day of FreakNight 2014.

Drawing his inspiration for the work from the changing of the seasons and the way in which Earth’s electromagnetic fields interact, R0ME successfully goes in an alternate direction with Winter Solstice. Not Antipodal is the chill-out DnB tune that could fit as well on Brainstorm as it does Winter Solstice. Lunar Eclipse is another laid-back tune, as R0ME sticks to his bass roots while staying diverse with some lazy liquid DnB. The perfect compliment to his debut work Brainstorm, Winter Solstice has R0ME firmly on our radar for 2015.
