Halloween weekend is fast approaching, and that means Upper Left’s Shadows is almost here! Here are some things to keep in mind in the days leading up to the event, and the night of the show:
Have a plan of attack after the show, which is scheduled until 2 am. Make sure you know where you are going after the festivities, and have a safe way to get there. Be it to your house, hotel, or the Shadows AFTERDARK after party, please do not drive under the influence of anything!
Make sure you have your tickets. Tickets are still available for both Shadows and Shadows AFTERDARK! Shadows is at the Seattle Center, and Shadows AFTERDARK is at Kremwerk. It is about a 10 minute cab ride, or a little over 20-minute walk.
Upper Left has also released a list of items that are not allowed in the venue, so make sure to look it over so you don’t delay your dancing. Knowing what is and is not allowed in the venue prior to getting in line helps you, the staff and fellow attendees to make the process quicker. Be courteous to everyone who is involved and be prepared.
When getting your Halloween costume remember to be creative, but also keep in mind the simple guidelines set by Upper Left. Keep it respectful, and the staff must be able to identify the person under the mask and makeup. October nights are chilly and wet; prepare accordingly. For your convenience there will be a coat check.
This is going to be a long night of dancing and exploring, make sure you have been taking care of your body leading up to the event, and continue through the night. Keep in mind that though there is no reentry, but if you happen to get hungry there will be food and drinks for sale in the venue. While cards are accepted, using cash will make your transaction quicker.
Shadows is going to be a great night of music and celebration. Please do yourself and everyone a favor by being prepared as you can be. And as always, have fun and be safe!
