We just love it when funk gets more funky. That’s why we have to share this remix of Pharrell Williams’ popular song Happy, courtesy of up-and-coming French electro bass producer NEUS.
NEUS slows down Happy and gives it a laid-back, classic funk feel. Right away you’ll notice the heavy bass chord that has been added to the song. It’s not just that NEUS turned up the bass. It sounds like he is slappin’ those strings hard as he plucks out a mean bass line. You’ll hear some quintessentially-French synth (think Daft Punk) woven in to this too, giving Happy some real grit and depth. Absolutely awesome. Pharrell Williams ought to tip his hat to this one.

NEUS arrived on the electro bass scene in 2010, and has made a big impact in his genre, hitting the Top 3 on Soundcloud and official.fm. His music, including this latest track, is heavily impacted by acoustic instruments including the guitar, drums and piano – all of which he has mastered.
