To some, Pasquale Rotella is just the CEO of Insomniac Events, to others he may as well be rave Jesus. No matter what he is to you, he’s been an active member in the dance music community since the early 90’s, and he’s seen a thing or two in his day. Recently he made a public post on Facebook regarding PLUR and just how serious he is about it. It seems to not only be important, but also a very personal subject to him.
“The spirit of PLUR saved my Life a few times when things got sticky back in the Day!” -Pasquale Rotella
Recently, there’s been a big push to emphasize personal accountability at festivals. Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect are the core values in our community, and lately there has been talk of including a second “R” for Responsibility. Some are calling it Hipster PLUR, but maybe there’s something to it, even if it’s just a gentle reminder to take care of yourself.
What it comes down to is that PLUR(R) is whatever you want it to be for yourself. If you think it’s a joke, then sure, it’s a joke. But if you believe that these are four (or five) important values that are translatable into your everyday life, then they are. No one can tell you what to think of it, and no one can tell you what’s correct.
Read Pasquale’s post below and let us know what you think. What has PLURR done for you? One “R” or two?
