5pm rolled around and the Wreckage was calling us again. Terravita had just hit the stage, and we prepared for what was the best set of theirs we’d seen since Shambhala 2015. The guys were definitely on their A-Game, and we were happy to be able to catch their set since we won’t be seeing them in the Village later this summer. After their set we had the opportunity to sit down and chat with the guys so be on the lookout for our interview soon. The day proceeded on with a pretty consistent serving of bass from all 3 stages. Jackal, Cash Cash, and Alison Wonderland did not disappoint, and for sunset we decided to catch RL Grime on the main stage. The Gorge creates a beautiful back drop of natural beauty, with addition of the newly designed main stage we were in for a treat.
The sun had set, and once again we found our way to the Wreckage stage to be met with, what we felt, was one of the best sets all weekend. Datsik was absolutely DESTROYING his set when about 15-20 minutes in we were treated with Excision. When these 2 bass fueled producers join forces, you can guarantee that it’s going to be a banger set. Following them was another b2b set from UK producers Cookie Monsta and Funtcase. We headed out a little early to catch the tail end of Dillon Francis, and just in time to hear him drop his latest track Candy.

Night 1 would come to a close with a headlining performance from Bassnectar. For those who have had the opportunity to seem Lorin before, they can attest that his performances are that of a journey through bass music. Lorin gave us what we believe to be one of his best performances to date. Even as we write this, the hair on our arms sticks up reliving that night in our heads. After day 1 of Paradiso, the theme for the weekend was quite clear… BASS.
As we all took part in the mass exodus from the festival grounds, we took a look at our Paradiso Festival app and were reminded there was a silent disco a the Activity Center until 4am. With little to no convincing, we decided to check it out and we’re glad we did. While finding the activity center was a bit of a challenge, and was worth the adventure. The silent disco had the perfect amount of night owls to dance what little energy we had left in the tank for the night. We eventually made our way back to camp and hit the hay.
