With Paradiso right around the corner and all the stress of planning, the Dance Music Northwest team would like to help fellow festival attendees arrive safe and sound at the Gorge. As we all travel to the Gorge for Paradiso, it important that attendees be aware that Thursday night on I-90 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m construction crews will be doing rock blasting therefore the road will be closed. Festival attendees should plan to add an hour of travel time during rock blasting closures.
During the day expect delays from construction crews as they use intermittent rolling slowdowns to help the flow of traffic. These slowdowns allow workers to continue construction without heavily interrupting the flow of traffic.During the slowdowns construction crews work ahead of a truck going at 20 MPH to work on the road. Intermittent rolling slowdowns last an average of 5 to 8 minutes before the crew lets you pass.
Drivers should expect daytime delays three miles east of the Snoqualmie Pass Summit around Keechelus Lake. As well as multiple eastbound lane closures between milepost 47, Denny Creek, and milepost 55, Hyak. Festival attendees can also expect multiple nighttime delays as construction crew close lanes to further work on them.
Construction crews will close the pass going eastbound at milepost 56, Gold Creek, and westbound at milepost 61, Prince Creek from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Additionally, crews will have single lane closures three miles east of the Snoqualmie Pass Summit around Keechelus Lake. The WSDOT will also close multiple eastbound and westbound lanes around milepost 47, Denny Creek, and milepost 55, Hyak. Drivers can expect nighttime delays both eastbound and westbound near milepost 62 to 65 with single lane closures.
As you attempt to make your way to the Gorge, plan to leave a little earlier than normal so that you can make it over the pass before it closes. Remember that rock blasting does depend on the weather conditions so continue to check the WDSOT before you leave for any changes.
