Pink and green lasers stretched across the fog as the dance floor began to pack out at Euphoria Nightclub last Friday for an evening with PANTyRAiD in Portland. Red Cube & AEP Music’s agenda for the night called for music influences in EDM bass, house, chill trap, dubstep, and hip-hop for a crowd that just wanted to bounce, along with a touch of alluring sultry piano melodies thrown into the blend.
As the night progressed, the bass booms only got heavier, and the word ‘bounce’ perfectly described the vibe. After Glow will be PANTyRAiD’s third album release, and the commotion has stirred up the excitement of the Portland nightlife scene, as the show sold out before doors opened.
CMNDR opened the event with sexy fresh chill beats, getting everyone in the right relaxed type of mindset as the drinks were being poured. Danny Corn followed up, bringing some experimental sounds to the mix, with heavier bass, making the evening’s music transitionally flow. When it was time for PANTyRAiD (made up of Josh Mayer, Ooah from The Glitch Mob, and Martin Folb of Martyparty) the crowd was fully warmed up and people were getting down.
PANTyRAiD was controlling the emotions of the audience, alternating tempos, and changing the atmosphere after every single track. The place was packed, and at one point everyone became some type of professional dancer. Even PANTyRAiD was booty shaking along to their tracks as sweat dripped from off their faces onto their mixers.
It’s a no-brainer, PANTyRAiD has been long overdue but finally delivered the sensual sexy beats like a pizza man delivering the cheese. You want it, you need it, and you’re forever thankful. The After Glow Tour will be wrapping up their journey with just a few more select dates, but Red Cube & AEP represented Portland with a show that was well worth all the wait.
