One Friday Night brings the festival vibes home

With festival season on the rise, we have a bevvy of options to choose from. But what about those of us who gotta stick around town for the summer? What can we do?!

Well, there’s plenty of hometown action, and we’re gonna outline it over the next couple weeks, starting with…ONE FRIDAY NIGHT!

Presented by the Downtown Duncan (British Columbia) Business Improvement Area Society, in association with the Cowichan Showroom, this is a free event to celebrate the beginning of our Duncan Days festival that takes place every summer.

Duncan isn’t always the first place you think of when it comes to wild entertainment and nightlife. The small west coast city is between Nanaimo and Victoria, and is nestled in a beautiful mountain valley. Close to the Laketown Shakedown venue, and easily accessible, this is a great place to head if you’re not up for a massive festival experience!

Featuring massive talent from festival mainstays The New Groovement, who blend rock, hip hop, funk, and brass band music for an experience you’ll never forget! Below is a clip of them performing in Victoria last year for Car Free Day YYJ.

A 12-headed funk monster, these guys will absolutely blow you away! Also featuring support from The Funky Lowdown, this is the perfect way to start off your summer right!

There will be food and beverages provided by The Ainsley, Taco Revolution, Stillhead Brewery, OmNom Crepes, and more!

Event link is here, no tickets needed as it’s FREE!

Who else is getting geared for summer? Let us know on Facebook, and Twitter!
