This year has already been an exciting year for the forming of new supergroups and the ending of some as well. One of the newest supergroups formed is I Am Legion, but you might know them individually as Noisia and Foreign Beggars. They’ve recently announced their debut single, ‘Make Those Moves’ on OWSLA Records.
Skrillex has also made some moves creating new supergroups, Dog Blood with Boys Noise and Jack U with Diplo.
What happens with you mix cakes with someone who can’t drive? That’s right… you get the supergroup, AFROKI. Steve Aoki and Afrojack.
The next supergroup died shortly after their hit single ‘Barbara Streisand’… but yes… rumor has it Duck Sauce is back! A-Trak and Armand Van Helden are the two artists behind this disco house duck craze.
Destroid. Destroid is the live performance bass music project from Excision, Downlink, and KJ Sawka (who you may know as the drummer from Pendulum). If you haven’t heard of them, watch the video below to witness their high energy dedication to their brand new live performance.
Trance music kings, Marcus Schulz and Ferry Corsten combine forces to bring you “New World Punx”. The name derives from Markus Schulz’s hit, “The New World”, and Ferry Corsten’s massive anthem, “Punk”. Be on the look out for some amazing music coming from this Trance music duo!
AND FINALLY, the NOTABLE supergroup breakup of 2013 – Swedish House Mafia. Now some might be happy that Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello and Axwell split but there’s millions of fans who aren’t. LUCKILY, all of these artists have continued to produce music under there solo projects, so we can always look forward to hearing that signature SHM sound in dance music. Who knows, maybe a reunion will be in store some day! We can only hope.
