Revealing the latest sign of an upcoming album, British trio NERO debuted a new tune via Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show on Wednesday. The single, entitled The Thrill, premiered as the ‘Hottest Record in the World’ and successfully showcases the groups unique versatility. Another exceptional combination of NERO’s ability to mesh their heavy sound with the immaculate vocals of Alana Watson, The Thrill is full of summer festival vibes and the classic NERO sound.
When we last heard from NERO, in May of 2014, they released the debut single off of their upcoming album, Satisfy. The *still* upcoming album, the name of which is currently unknown, was originally due out in 2014. Hopefully the release of The Thrill is a sign of more to come, rather than something to hold us over for another six months. Regardless, we know we’ll be hearing plenty of NERO tunes, both new and old, at festivals throughout the summer.
NERO, made up of Daniel Stephens, Joe Ray, and Watson, last released an album in 2011 with their wildly successful debut Welcome Reality. With the agonizing wait for their upcoming album constantly pushing our patience past limits we thought unbreakable, we’re happy to have another tune to add to our NERO playlist until the LP finally drops. In the interview with Annie Mac following the debut of The Thrill, Stephens confirmed that the album is indeed finished, and that news regarding it’s release would be coming ‘soon’.
Northwest fans have also been clamoring for a return to our corner of the country from the Resolution 2012 headliners, so here’s to hoping we can just get it all out of the way, and NERO’s album release coincides with a Northwest show in 2015.
