Here at Dance Music Northwest, we’re always on board with a festival that aspires to set itself apart as a one-of-a-kind experience. We’ve made no mystery of our love for Shambhala, as a haven for safety and spectacular music. Across the country at the legendary site of Woodstock in Bethel Woods, NY, Mysteryland is continuing the proud tradition of giving festivalgoers something they won’t get anywhere else.
We often get stuck in our small travel bubbles here in the Northwest, and for good reason. Festivals like Paradiso, Shambhala, WTF, Sasquatch, Block Party, and even EDC are must-sees. But every once in awhile, it’s good to take stock and pick one place to go that’s far outside of our familiar sphere. For this summer, Mysteryland is that very festival. Your typical summer lineup will feature titanic headliners paired with a weekend in the sun. This New York camping festival though is doing things a little differently.

If there’s one thing ID&T has excelled at with Tomorrowland and TomorrowWorld, it’s been the way they set up their artist lineups. Mysteryland is no exception to this, featuring a multitude of different genres across three days and six hosted stages. The individual stage hosts include: The hardstyle mavens of Q Dance, Bro Safari’s Animal House, Webster Hall, Adam Beyer Presents Drumcode, Beatport, Zeitgest, and Verboten. All corners of the dance music world will come together to represent virtually every genre you can imagine.
All this is without even mentioning the artists each stage will feature, from Porter Robinson and Madeon on the Saturday mainstage, to Dillon Francis and Diplo on Sunday. A smaller lineup of DJs composed of Richie Hawtin, A-Trak, and more will headline on Friday, rounding out what’s sure to be an insanely diverse weekend of music.
Hosted at the legendary site of 1969’s Woodstock, Mysteryland takes place on hallowed musical grounds. It only seems natural that our own counter-culture is represented in Bethel Woods. While many of us will be at our own musical mecca at the Gorge this Memorial Day weekend, there’s another option on the other coast that can bring a completely new and exciting experience.
