Monstercat has released their album compilation entitled Monstercat 22 – Contact, choosing a title that represents a message of unity and community between artists and fans. They are Canada’s largest independent electronic music label, their mission being to connect artists with fans in a way that nurtures the spirit of sharing and family. Artists and fans have so many different ways to come together nowadays, from internet mediums such as social media to live events and meet and greets. Bringing artists and fans together is always a magical moment, no matter what type of medium.
With this compilation we take the occasion to appreciate the power of this community brought together by the power of music and the connectivity of the internet.
What sets this compilation apart from the others, such as their yearly compilations, is the level of incorporation of fan interaction. This album release includes many vocal submissions that are directly from fans in the 22nd episode of the podcast. Featuring tracks from artists such as Pegboard Nerds, Aero Chord, San Holo and more, there is a wide variety of genres represented. One of our favorite track is Memory (feat. Holly Drummond) by Direct. It’s at the end of the album and it’s a more down tempo track that closes things up very well, bringing down the energy from earlier in the album.
You can purchase the album on iTunes, Bandcamp, and Google Play. Let us know what you think on Facebook, Twitter or below!
