[dropcap size=small]L[/dropcap]et’s face it: Everything is better with music. While showering, doing the dishes, even just chilling outside in the lovely Northwest summer heat – if there were an easy way to add music in, without blowing up our laptop speakers, having chords running all over the place, or ticking off the neighbors with earth-shaking bass levels, we’re all for it. Thankfully, the tech wizards at Jawbone have designed an on-the-go Mini Jambox speaker that is designed with convenience in mind. We’ve tested the Mini Jambox ourselves to give you an honest review, so if you like what you see (and hear) then don’t miss your chance to win one below!
There’s plenty to love about the Mini Jambox. The crisp, clear sound is pristine, with no distortion of the highs and mids as the volume goes up, and – most notably compared to other speakers – it can deliver some serious bass. Its small, lightweight design (only 9 ounces!) allows us to bring the music with us where ever we go. With Bluetooth capability, the Mini Jambox can connect to iPhones, iPads, Android devices and more for big, chord-less sound using the Jawbone music app. It even has a built-in microphone making the Mini Jambox great for high-quality speakerphone use.
The Mini Jambox also comes with an audio jack to connect directly to your music device, which is great for plugging into laptops and desktops for movies, music and gaming. Another great feature is the ability to sync two Mini’s together, allowing for twice the sound! The Mini Jambox’s battery life can last for up to 10 hours, and comes with a USB for charging. What we also love is the customization; by choosing a color and adding free engraving, Mini Jambox is a great gift for music lovers.
There are a few things that we feel the Mini Jambox could improve on, based on our testing and reviews of other users. While the sound quality is pristine, the volume could go just a couple notches higher. Perhaps our ears are too used to the club and festival levels, but the sound is nearly perfect for filling a room without conversation overpowering it. Don’t expect the Mini Jambox to be your backup system for your next house party, but the small size still packs an impressive punch and is worth the cost for convenience.
Another issue we have is with durability. The Mini Jambox is very sturdy in it’s metal shell, but don’t expect it to last after a couple mishaps. We definitely recommend getting a case to help protect it, and to be mindful about handling and transporting since it is so portable. The intricate speaker technology is profound, so treat it well and it will love you back. We also wish it came with a wall charger, but USB wall chargers are very cheap and easy to find.
The Jawbone Mini Jambox is available at a discounted price of only $130 through AT&T!
