2. Squamish Valley Music Festival – August 8-10
Centennial Field, Loggers Sports Grounds, Hendrickson Fields – Squamish, BC
Squamish Valley Music Festival was previously known as Live at Squamish. Run by Live Nation in Canada, attendance has increased rapidly since it started in 2010. Previous acts that have come to Squamish Valley Music Festival include: Madeon, Pretty Lights, Dragonette, Queens of the Stone Age, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and hundreds of other internationally-known acts. The artists for this years lineup will include: Eminem, Bruno Mars, Arctic Monkeys, Lykee Li and Felix Cartel just to name a few.
This year the Squamish Valley Music Festival has a few camping options available that are a short walk from the festival grounds. GA tickets start at $149 for single-day passes, 3-day GA passes for $325, and $799 plus fees for 3-day VIP passes. The 3-day passes require a camping pass as well, if you choose to stay on the festival camp grounds. The prices of Squamish Valley Music Festival are more on the expensive side, however they do offer quite a few tricks to keep waiting to a minimum and lines almost non-existent. Squamish Valley Music Festival has invested in a RFID wristbands that allow all transactions to be done automatically. When you purchase your passes, you will receive one of these wristbands that gets you into the festival, and is used to purchase items without cash the entire weekend. If you have the money to spend, and want to see this big lineup live, you will definitely be paying a higher price – but the payoff is convenience.
