Mat Zo has just released his newest track Oldskool Trip, and we honestly can’t get enough of it. It’s a fun, groovy, funk-infused track that makes it impossible not to bop one’s head to the bead. It has a sexy bassline that brings another breath of fresh air from the more commonplace hard-hitting beats getting play on the mainstream channels. The vocals and beat speak to sunny summer days of chilling out with a glass of something fun in our hands, dancing in the sunshine. It’s a call back to the funk era of the 70s, but does such a righteous job of making it relevant for 2014.

The track isn’t insanely complex, but its simplicity is part of what makes it so great. Throw it on, put the speakers on high, and turn up the subwoofer if it feels so right. Honestly, we dare you listen without being compelled to get up and dance. As an added treat, Mat Zo has just announced that all of his future tracks starting with Oldskool Trip will be available as FREE downloads from his Soundcloud account. With more and more artists going this route we can’t wait to see who else decides to start releasing their music for free.
