This past week we were lucky enough to have Madeon grace us with his presence not once, but twice at Seattle’s Neptune Theater. Both nights Hugo Leclercq played to a sold out crowd of stomping feet and shaking booties. While he was busy MIDI-padding, keyboarding, and occasionally singing, the crowd was eating it all up. His energy was so intense, he had everyone jumping right along with him right away. Nearly every person was dancing for every single song, even the three dudes in front of us that would not put their phones down. Shaky or not, they got those videos.
The set had us jumping from the start, and slowed down a little more toward the end until finally he sang us a beautiful downtempo track. We heard all of our favorite songs, original tracks and remixes alike. He hit us with Cut the Kid, Finale, Pop Culture, Icarus, his Raise Your Weapon remix, and all the rest. He gave us everything we could have asked for, and certainly the most fun we’ve had on a Monday night in a long time.
His visuals were set on giant LEDs in the shape of his Adventure album artwork and were complimentary to the music but not distracting. Then again, we were too busy dancing to pay very close attention. Between the live elements, his incredible energy, and killer tracklist, we were reminded once again of why we can never miss Madeon when he’s in town.
If you missed this Adventure and have maybe been living under a rock, here’s a taste of Madeon’s MIDI-controlling madness.
Did you go on Madeon’s Adventure with him at either show? What did you think of the set?
