M Machine fans, we have some bittersweet news for you. Andy, one third of The M Machine, has announced on Facebook that he is parting ways with the group he has spent six years with. The news broke yesterday, on January 28th and the post has already gathered over 172 comments from fans and peers wishing Andy the best.
For the last six years I’ve been the luckiest man alive – I’ve gotten to travel the world with two of my best friends and make beautiful art together. -Andy Coenen
Unlike some other unceremonious bandmate departures from other groups, Andy appears to be leaving bandmates Eric and Swardy on good terms with a huge expression of gratitude for what they’ve been able to accomplish. The trio created an incredibly unique, diverse, beautiful sound and we are interested to see what Andy cleaving from the group will mean for future releases. Andy states that he is moving on to pursue his love for technology, and ambiguous statement that we hope to be able to see the results of in the future.
Andy, we wish you all the best and we thank you for the contributions you’ve been able to make to dance music. Fans of The M Machine, fear not for the two remaining members have just kicked off on the Just Like Tour today and will be making many stops around the US and the rest of the world. The guys will be visiting our neck of the woods at Foundation in Seattle on February 27th, and are hitting up Vancouver the following month on March 19th. What do you think of the news?
