[label style=”1″]Griz[/label]
Electro-soul producer Griz graces the Lucky 2014 lineup announcement like a breath of fresh air. The Detroit, Mich. native brings his silky sounds and funky flow to the Northwest after touring the U.S. and Canada like a mad-man in 2013. Griz, who is obviously unaware of hibernation, included two stops each in Portland and Seattle into his work-load last year.
The 23-year-old has worked with big-names in dance music such as Gramatik, Pretty Lights, and Bassnectar. He’s obviously impressed them as much as he has us, forming duo Grizmatik with Gramatik and featuring on Pretty Light’s remix album of A Color Map of the Sun. Griz is definitely on our ‘Do Not Miss’ list for Lucky 2014 and for fans of Pretty Lights or electro-soul, he’s one you won’t want to miss either.
[label style=”1″]Heatbeat[/label]
Argentinian duo Heatbeat will be making their Northwest return at Lucky 2014. Heatbeat, made up of Agustin Servente and Matias Faint, last played in the Northwest at the Whiskey Bar in Portland in December of 2012. They return with their wide-ranging style, which includes various types of trance and house. Signed to the legendary Armin van Buuren’s Armada Music label, the duo are ready for another big year.
Since 2012, all Heatbeat has done is complete their first worldwide tour, start their radio show ‘Monster’, have several tracks appear on various top trance charts, and enter the DJMag Top 100. Although the major success has been recent, Heatbeat have been in and around the global dance music scene since 2006. Trance fans will be sure to have Heatbeat on their list of ‘must-sees’ for Lucky 2014.
