The search for Bainbridge local Luke Shipstad has finally come to an end. The 23 year-old, going under the alias Suspect 44, has been identified by local residents after his face was recognized on the event pages and flyers for Foundation Nightclub’s Progression Saturdays series. This discovery has led to an uproar of celebration and surprise among the local dance music community, as many friends and fans have awaited this debut since the beginning of Suspect 44’s inception nearly three years ago.
August 16th marks the first-ever performance of Suspect 44 in Seattle, and it won’t be one to miss out on, before Luke and his two fellow Suspects make it to their maximum potential world-wide. Already they’ve landed signings on esteemed labels like Anjunadeep, Anjunabeats, Enhanced and Armada Music, and this is only just the beginning of their promising future in electronic dance music.
This is undoubtedly a monumental career milestone for Luke and his Netherland mates of Suspect 44, although it will be a solo endeavor as Hoz Sabirr and Zhiar Mahmoud will remain in Europe to represent the group in other performances. Going it alone, Luke will be taking to the same decks that have hosted electronic dance music greats like Chris Lake, Michael Woods, Estiva and Juventa. With opening support from Seattle favorites like Gravity Lift, DJ Gotek and Johnny Monsoon, this will be a rare all-local showcase at Foundation Nightclub. Uplifting trance, progressive house and a few yet-to-be released gems from Suspect 44 await; a genuine reason to grab your friends and head out for one extra-special celebration of explosive Northwest talent.
