Listening homework for Above & Beyond’s Gorge Weekender

Our readers have heard nearly everything there is to know about Above & Beyond’s return trip to the Gorge Amphitheater. July 27 & 28 will be the greatest! Outside of our recent Flowstate article there hasn’t been much in the way of new information.

The goal of this encounter is to share full-length mixes and live sets from some of our favorite openers. We are just under three weeks away! The most prepared fans will be up to date on the weekly Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep mix series.

If you haven’t completed this first homework assignment yet, then you best get on it. Andrew Bayer will be the premier opener at the Gorge Amphitheater.

We can think of nearly 10 plus Soundcloud and YouTube mixes available from Spencer Brown, but we have to go with his iconic ABGT 300 show, also known as ID City.

Spencer Brown is going b2b with Arty’s progressive trance project Alpha 9. Curious what kind of set they are going to cook up? Hear how progressive Alpha 9 really is on a June 2019 studio mix from Anjunabeats Worldwide.

In 2019 Grum’s music has had an even bigger impact on Anjunabeats and Above & Beyond than recent years. In the past year, Above & Beyond and their label have taken a progressive route. Grum spearheaded this movement. Study his new and old music with his July 2019 mixtape. Sunset with Grum anyone?!?

Sunday is for Anjunadeep

Now onto the deep side of things. Anjunadeep has secured the main-stage for day 2. Begin preparations with the masterful Ben Bohmer and his live set performed in the Anjunabeats office, the “Anjunakitchen.”

We hope you are familiar with the all-stars, Yotto, James Grant b2b Jody Wisternoff, and 16 Bit Lolita’s side project Cubicolor. If not we have you covered with links from our favorite sets.

Gorge 250 veterans Eli & Fur are returning. We experienced their magic for the first time at the legendary venue in Washington State. Stroll down memory lane with us and watch their ABGT 250 set, or view their newest Anjunadeep Edition Mixtape.

Newcomers Nox Vahn and Marsh are set to dominate a b2b with a new dark and hypnotizing sound. As a pair, they found a way to combine dark melodies with the classic Anjunadeep uplifting sound. Their set will be unique.

And of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t also put Above & Beyond’s last iconic Gorge show on the “must-listen” list. So while we wait, let’s relive ABGT250 in all of its resplendent glory, and count down the days until our next date with the legendary trio.

What opener are you most excited for? First time seeing Above & Beyond?! Maybe an Above & Beyond Veteran’s first trip to The Gorge? Let us know what state and how far you are traveling for Above & Beyond on Facebook or Twitter!
