Earlier this week, Lincoln Jesser’s electro-pop stomper We’ll Be Fine reached 3,000 likes on Hype Machine. Impressive. Jesser is now positioned to top his recent achievements with his new song, Something Right. Full of soft vocals, digestible rhythmic hooks, and brightly-colored synth sounds, Something Right feels like a spiritual little brother to that nu-disco duo, Holy Ghost! The track’s greatest strength is it’s bouncy bass and its easy, disco, stomp-clap tempo; able to transport any listener to the discotheque in their mind. Every listener could be filled with wide, shining, smiles after hearing this pick me up of electro-pop.
It’s all but spelled out by Jesser that these tracks will find their way together as part of an EP, which leaves the question; what else is there to expect from this artist? The answer? Songs from someone going through a new part of their career, where they’re able to release their own kind of music in their own lane. This also highlights the fact that the DJ who’s ‘just trynna to have some fun‘ is spelling out ‘s-u-c-c-e-s-s’ with his music.
