Sonya Broner, better known to the EDM community as Level Up, has just put out her newest single No Luck. Released on the dubstep record label Buygore, this new track should come with a warning label for its heavy-hitting and unrelenting sound.
Unveiling more of Level Up’s own blend of dubstep and riddim No Luck is a purely destructive track. Level Up refers to herself as a friendly video game character, showcasing her love for the game The Last of Us in this new track. It opens up with a foreboding vocal sample from the game’s main character Joel saying, “If you’ve come to kill me… you’re out of luck.”

Level Up is quickly making a name for herself and is an up and coming artist to watch in 2020. In an interview with Headbang Society she breaks down the mentality behind the production of her tracks. Channeling her love for gaming into music, she gets inspiration from the sounds used in her favorite games. Her goal is to arrange her sets to feel like a run through of a video game, continuously building until you’ve reached the final boss and ultimately complete the game. No Luck is a perfect example of that, chopping it’s way to the final battle.
” Deriving from turntablism to EDM my project has always been about creating a safe and fun environment for everybody to be themselves and leave their worries behind. My main goal is to create a story through my music and put my entire self into my sets in new and interesting ways.”
