Let’s face it. The festival diet can be atrocious. You spend some of winter and almost all of spring trying to get your body into festival shape and then you go and fuck it up with shitty food that is being hurled at you from super expensive vendors. Well, we feel your pain. We have a few recipes from a local chef and DMNW staff members that you can make before you leave for a festival. These are relatively inexpensive and are basically ready to eat at the opening of the cooler.
Local Chef Allan Ambromovits and owner of Pot Bites, a 502 marijuana edible company in Washington, has offered us our first recipe, and it looks oh so delicious!
The Veggie POWER Wrap!
- 12” Spinach tortilla
- ½ of a cucumber thin sliced
- 2oz Balsamic dressing
- 3-TBSP hummus
- 1-oz fresh spinach
- 1-oz favorite mushroom
- 1-pinch salt and pepper
- 6-slices of julienne red pepper.
Directions:
Take your favorite mushroom (could be any kind of mushroom you like) and pulverize it in a blender. Then add the balsamic dressing and puree together. Then heat the tortilla slightly in a large frying pan on medium. Fill the tortilla with the all the ingredients, starting with the hummus. Drizzle balsamic dressing throughout the whole tortilla. Fold in the sides by 1.5 inches then roll the tortilla forward. Wrap in foil after rolling it together. Store in the pack until ready to munch.
