Earlier this year we were oohing and ahhing over the magic that Skrillex was caused when the Mothership Tour was being live-streamed from Red Rocks, and then got to relive that same set when he posted the live version. Earlier this month we got to share the excitement when he announced the documentary; now we get to fully enjoy the ride through the process. Skrillex was able to partner with Red Bull to create Lets Make A Spaceship: Skrillex Mothership Tour 2014.
Despite another year of absence from Seattle, Skrillex has had an amazing year and getting to watch the making and then the end result of the Mothership Tour was spectacular. Fans at Austin City Limits were lucky enough to get first dibs on watching the documentary right after performing for them. We were just introduced to the Mothership earlier this year at Coachella, and those of us up here in the PNW dearly hope that it’s not permanently going back into the hangar. Now that we have the opportunity to watching its making we have a whole new admiration for it and the performer who dreamed it up. It’s been a while since Skrillex has been here; Seattle can only hope he’s saving something epic for us for when he finally returns.
