With a name like Lancelot – we expect nothing but a knight capable of unnervingly dangerous seduction, and that is exactly what the aussie producer brings to Anjunadeep’s table with his latest EP J.O.B.. Rounding out his deep house signature style with R&B throwback, Lancelot gives us a hypnotizing retrospective take on Gwen Guthrie’s 80s chart peaking single Ain’t Nothing Goin’ On But The Rent, with vocals covered by Australian soul songstress Ngaiire (pronounced ny-ree). The A side continues with 3 equally magnetic remixes, supported by Meramek, fellow countrymen Playmode as well as a piano dub rework by Lancelot himself. Lancelot continues to light our flame on J.O.B‘s flip side, having Ngaiire’s vintage vocals chopped in the contemporary deep house single Truth. The J.O.B. EP recently made it’s world premier on BBC Radio 1 with Ain’t Nothing Goin’ On But The Rent – a perfect follow up to Lancelot’s bewitching single Giving It Up which had propelled massive attention from the likes of Pitchfork, Mixmag, and led to a club hit remix by famed house master MK. With other supporters including Tensnake and The Magician, it’s no wonder that we’re entranced by the J.O.B. EP.
