It’s no question that the music industry as a whole has taken quite the hit during the COVID-19 pandemic. No matter the genre, we’ve all been feeling the same pressure to keep the music going.
Keeping our eyes on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Music Songs chart is something that feels, dare we say normal, during this time. Especially seeing as Kygo’s Golden Hour album is dominating the charts, claiming more spots than the pop queen herself Lady Gaga. Golden Hour held 16 placements within the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart last week, beating out Lady Gaga’s 13.
Not only does Kygo’s album deserves serious commendation, it’s also a reassuring sign to see EDM thriving right now. If you’re not familiar with Kygo’s Golden Hour, check out our very own Dance Music NW review! Out of the 18 tracks only two didn’t place, which means Golden Hour could be one of the best albums we receive in 2020. Time and time again Kygo has proven his work to be chart worthy, as his melodic tracks continue to mesmerize.
