DMNW recently brought you news that Apple would be launching its own music streaming service. Now we can report that the face of tropical house, Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll (aka Kygo), will be working together with the tech conglomerate to promote its new features. Kygo is a name recognizable to any modern festival goer, and a lot of that fame is due to his widespread internet fan-base. The tropical house DJ/producer got his start on SoundCloud where his most successful upload has accumulated more than 31 million plays. He continued his mutually beneficial relationship with music streaming on Spotify, and now he takes his talents to Apple Music.
Kygo teamed up with fellow Norwegians A-Ha to remake their classic song “Take On Me.” A Kygo track is instantly discernible, with a distinct trop-house flavor that is one part flute, one part synthesizer, and one part summer. We are excited to see how this 80’s anthem will benefit from a Kygo makeover.
