At only 22 years of age, tropical house producer Kyrre Gorvell-Dahll, more commonly known as Kygo, is taking front and center stage . Kygo started playing piano at a young age, but it wasn’t until his early teens when he heard big-name producer, Avicii, that he became interested in production himself. Now the talented Norwegian will be landing in Seattle at The Crocodile for his very first Seattle appearance!
Kygo is most well known for his beachy, summertime vibe remixes, although he can be found creating his own original tunes as well. His most famous remix of Ed Sheeran’s I See Fire has reached over 10,000,000 plays on Soundcloud and over 40,000,000 plays on YouTube. After this great success, Kygo was contacted by Coldplay’s front man, Chris Martin, and asked to remix their track, Midnight.
However grand his remixes may seem, Kygo just recently reached perhaps the biggest achievement of his career thus far. On July 18th, 2014, Kygo signed a deal with Sony Music Entertainment. Despite comments from fans via Facebook and Twitter saying that this was the worst career move he could make, Kygo was beyond thrilled. That evening he took to Facebook stating “Now I can finally release these original tunes I’ve been working on.”
Whether you are excited about Kygo’s new record deal or not, one things is for certain: Kygo is a tropical house mastermind. He recently rocked the pool stage at Oregon’s What The Festival, and it was a performance nobody would soon forget. If you did not get the chance to see this set, have no fear, for the tropical house king is headed back to the Pacific Northwest! On October 4th, leave your worries at the door and join us at The Crocodile where you will be transported to a beach oasis full of good vibes and tropical sounds. If you imagine hard enough, you may even be able to feel the sand between your toes!
Tickets go on sale Friday, August 1st at 10am PDT for $20 each! Head over this way to make sure you get yours.
