Until recently, we were under the impression that Knife Party’s upcoming album, Abandon Ship, was coming to us just in time for Halloween: October 27! There are so many Halloween events going on, and so many places to hear things from the new release. And with this news, we realize that officially, we have to wait until November 10th now.
If you have heard Begin Again, one of the singles that is going to be featured on this highly-anticipated album, you might be wondering if we’re going to be hearing more Pendulum (the band that the two members of Knife Party, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, used to be part of), i.e., softer sounds, than what Knife Party has previously been known for: bass-heavy dubstep. Some fans are disappointed; others are thrilled. Most are excited, either way.
In an announcement yesterday on Twitter, Knife Party shared the following:
If that was tl;dr, then know this: Knife Party appears to have reached a compromise with their management allowing them to release the album for streaming one week in advance of the official release. This means that we’ll be keeping our ears to the floor waiting for news. We just have to be patient an extra week, when it boils down to it. As soon as we hear the full album, we’ll be sharing it with you!
