Australian EDM heavy hitters Knife Party announced the completion of their new EP on their first Knifecast podcast of the year. This comes hot on the heels of January’s announcement of new material and the promise of a release “within three months” and months of speculation surrounding the production efforts of the group.
Founded by two members of legendary outfit Pendulum, Knife Party secured themselves a spot in bass music history with 2011’s infamous track Internet Friends, quickly followed by a string of hits (Centipede, Power Glove and Bonfire to name but a few). With their signature sound of electro house, dubstep and drumstep influences, they quickly swept up on the charts and on dancefloors on an international scale.
The duo’s last release was their 2015 EP Trigger Warning and famously closed out Ultra 2016 with their smashing track Battle Sirens. Needless to say, we are stoked to hear the duo’s new material and the exciting content that the soon-to-be-released EP will surely entail.
Knife Party are frequent flyers to the PNW, including stops in Seattle and Vancouver on their last tour in Summer 2018. Of particular note, their appearance at Vancouver BC’s Commodore Ballroom in July blew through summer doldrums for the rave community in the historic venue, and they will surely be very welcome back for an encore!
