KJ Sawka, in collaboration with fellow PNW favorite and Seattle locals Super Square, has released an electrifying new single. Unleashed on our eardrums earlier this week on Soundcloud, Find A Way Out delivers Sawka’s signature heavy style alongside soaring melodic vocals and an energetic bassline. Released on Sawka’s own Impossible Records label, this single is a sure crowd-pleaser and niche favorite alike.
This is not the first notable collaboration on Sawka’s remarkable musical CV: his work as Destroid in conjunction with Canadian bass heavyweights Excision and Downlink springs to mind, as does his work with the esteemed Australian drum and bass group Pendulum.
Let’s talk a bit about Super Square and what they bring to the track. The trio combines a slightly retro feel with expert wielding of melodic vocals and electro synths, providing a great contrast to Sawka’s heavier drumming and darker sound. The song’s Soundcloud description also prompts the listener to check out the “fully-produced sci-fi short film” accompanying the track, which can be found here.
