Following the release of True Colors with Zedd, Kesha has had a busy and impressive few weeks. She had a cameo on ABC’s Nashville last Wednesday, where she played herself and interacted with Hayden Panettiere’s character at a red carpet event. Having grown up in Nashville in real life, it was nice to see Kesha getting back to her roots a bit. More importantly and most pertinent to us, she was announced on Mad Decent Block Party’s lineup! She’ll be playing in Brooklyn, Chicago, and co-headlining with Diplo himself in Los Angeles.
She’ll be joining the likes of Tiesto, Kaskade, DJ Snake, Alison Wonderland, Galantis, Flosstradamus, Marshmello, Tchami, Zeds Dead, Brillz, Dillon Francis, GRiZ, and more at MDBP. Perhaps not a lineup addition you would have expected, but we’re interested to see what kind of set she throws down. It’s undeniable that her music is if nothing else, catchy, fun, and danceable — so it should be a great time!
Apart from the TV cameo and lineup announcement, Kesha also performed at To The Rescue – Humane Society Gala. As a passionate animal rights activist she made a heartfelt dedication before she sang Lada Gaga’s Til It Happens To You with such raw emotion that she had difficulty starting the song.
“I want to dedicate this song to every man, woman, child, and animal who has ever been abused.”
We’re happy that although the #FreeKesha movement continues, it seems that she has gained a new aspect of freedom and control in her own life. We’re still listening to True Colors, being haunted and inspired every time we hear it. Now with plans to perform at a few select MDBP dates, it appears that Kesha really has “escaped her capture.”
We’re looking forward to seeing where Kesha goes from here. We’re certainly hoping for more collaborations with EDM producers and DJs.
Who would you want to see Kesha collaborate with in the future?
