Please Say Quick Quack, Kaskade‘s mash-up of his own Please Say You Will (featuring Adam Klopp) and DBN’s Quick Quack, has been a dependable mainstage weapon this year. Today, Kaskade, aka Ryan Raddon, released his handiwork on iTunes for fans to buy (it dropped on Beatport in September).
How long the song will stay up on Kaskade’s official SoundCloud, given his history with the site, is up for debate. There appears to be a reasonable collection, as of our latest check, of Kaskade’s music on SoundCloud. We wrote extensively about Kaskade’s mission to free the music and his opinion that record labels and laws must respond to changes in technology and music culture. And it appears those who make the rules are slow to respond. Just yesterday, Grooveshark lost a lawsuit initiated by two record labels and stands to pay a large sum of money for copyright infringement. There is still a lot of tension in the online music-sharing communities, and Kaskade continues to stand up for open-access to music.
You can catch Kaskade when he visits the PNW on Halloween weekend, at Freaknight 2014. In the meantime check out Please Say Quick Quack on SoundCloud below.
