Chances are that you’ve never heard of John 00 Fleming unless you’re a connoisseur of underground trance music. He’s just fine with that.
With over 10 million album sales and 30 produced mix compilations and a rare endorsement from Pioneer, Fleming is a well-respected and world-renowned DJ. However, all who know him describe him as one of the most unpretentious DJs in the world. Fleming doesn’t seek fame so much as a place to share his sound. He is known for what is described as “the J00F sound,” which is best described as deep and textured progressively-edged trance.
April 7th is the upcoming release date of Fleming’s release of a four-hour, 42-track compilation, J00F Editions. Breaking free of the constraints of a traditional 1 or 2 CD mix, John pushed the length of his next compilation towards what a DJ set in an underground nightclub would sound like. The result is four hours of haunting psychedelic trance, progressive, minimal, and techno: The deepest, darkest and most experimental album of John’s career.
One.Hunderd.ten WKO, John’s most recent album which was released in March 2013, reached number 2 in the Beatport charts, and was followed up by an astonishing six Top 10 Beatport singles. It was described by globaldigitaldjs.com as “getting back to the essence of trance; that feeling; back to the genesis of where trance was birthed; the underground.”
