Impossible Records is taking over one of the best weekly nights of bass in the Northwest at Foundation Nightclub later this month. The first ever showcase for the label will feature founder KJ Sawka, as well as Stratus, Architekt, and more to-be-determined local support on Wednesday, Oct. 26th. Tickets are available, and if past performances from the human-drum-machine are any indicator, this isn’t a show that Northwest bass-heads will be okay with missing.
Earlier this year Sawka performed with Pendulum at Ultra, toured alongside Aussie Mr. Bill, helped host a weekly musical improv night at the Seamonster Lounge, and even managed to return to Shambhala and perform one of our favorite sets of the weekend. All while creating and releasing his own tunes, and running a label. The man doesn’t know how to sit still, and we love enjoying the fruits of his labor. Whether it’s with Destroid, Pendulum, solo, or any other combination of Sawka-infused music, we’re paying attention.
The showcase will also feature sets from Impossible Records artists Stratus and Architekt. Stratus is a Chicago-native who comes to EDM with a background playing multiple instruments, and has utilized those skills to create a versatile range of bass-heavy tunes. Some of the heaviest tunes in our personal-playlists this year come from Philadelphia-native Architekt. His most recent EP, Deadly Styles, was released via Impossible Records on June 5th, and features more than a few tunes that wouldn’t sound out of place in one of Excison’s Shambhala mixes.
The Northwest loves its bass music, and it doesn’t get much better than a local-legend taking over one of our favorite clubs for a night of bass-heavy-fun.
