Hybrid Theory did it. When the new Crookers song Heavy released earlier this year, we didn’t think it could get too much crazier than that. Hybrid Theory stirs up some super-sleek deep bass lines to throw on top of an upbeat tech house groove that’s sure to warm up many club sets around the globe for quite some time.
Aiden Smith & James Crone created Hybrid Theory in 2010 after spinning in the UK solo for several years. Not long after, they created their record label, Four40 Records and have been drafting artists for their label ever since. With remixes like their rendition of the Crookers’ Heavy, big opportunities will be happening for Hybrid Theory. It’s a break away from most of the commercialized EDM. Sometimes it’s songs like these that make you feel refreshed. We hope more music from Hybrid Theory like this will be released in the next several years.
You may be wondering what the original Heavy sounds like. Check out the original mix for your listening enjoyment.
