Hardstyle has slowly but surely been making waves in the United States over the last year, coming over from Europe where its accrued a truly massive following. Breaking into the mainstream consciousness hasn’t been easy, but with Headhunterz’ latest collaboration with Krewella, that door may have finally been kicked down for good.
United Kids of World carries with it an inspiring anti-bullying message, a theme not often discussed in the dance music scene but refreshing to hear nonetheless. If you managed to catch Headhunterz at either Paradiso in June or Foundation in October, this one will probably sound familiar. With Yasmine and Jahan’s vocals echoing over the trademark 150 bpm of hardstyle, it’s a release that pleases both the fanatics of the genre as well as newcomers.
