French producer Adam Jouneau, better known as Habstrakt, has returned to the Monstercat:Uncaged label with some style. His latest single, The One, features haunting vocals from Pauline Herr and Habstrakt’s classic high energy sound. The single is accompanied with the artist’s first ever music video, co-directed by Habstrakt himself alongside videographer James Winterhalter.
“I’ve been holding onto this one for a while, worked and reworked it a thousand times, and I’m so excited to finally release it. The moment I heard these vocals from Pauline Herr, I knew something huge was going to happen!”
The genre-blending track has Herr’s vocals distorted and well placed throughout, leading up to that perfect grinding bass house drop. It’s a total adrenaline ride right from the start and doesn’t slow down. Rolling through what seems to be LA, a crew takes a blood pumping car race into a Mad Max-style landscape. With a total grunge vibe, it’s perfectly paired to Habstrakt’s bass house sound.
You can catch Habstrakt in the PNW in Portland on October 11th at 45 East on his The One tour.
