Notorious for his love of 90’s computer animation and sample based pop-music, Giraffage takes over Seattle’s Q nightclub bringing in a new crowd that does things a little different. Despite the heavy rain and the show falling on a Wednesday night, Q was packed with eclectic party-goers and an energy we haven’t seen since the days of underground, Electronic-Indie shows.
Thanks to DIAL UP, there’s a new party every Wednesday at Q. The nightclub is already known for it’s unique artist guests, legendary sound system, and the extraordinary environment; It’s no wonder to us that the club is becoming one of the hottest in Seattle. DIAL UP is taking full advantage of the dynamic atmosphere and turning Wednesdays into a unusual dance night full of musicians that reach into all the spaces of the electronic music spectrum.

“The idea is to bring the “here and the now in all things music to your front door” and incite a mid-week dance inferno along the way.” – DIAL UP

A great start to a new musical affair, Giraffage was a killer introduction to the Wednesday night events. The walls were showered with animations of pizza slices and floppy disks; a quirky signature of the producer. His sounds filled the glowing room with trill, lo-fi sounds that kept the energy swarming and the people dancing. Hands were occupied with blue-colored drinks and camera phones while they swayed and spun to the music. There was a different kind of energy in the room, and looking around there were smiles stretching from ear to ear. There were not the drugged-out, half-grinned smiles that we sometimes see at shows, but a genuine sign of people having a good time while listening to pure, unadulterated tunes.
The vision gave us an instant memories of underground Indie-Electronica shows in musky old buildings that used to be the most talked about gatherings among young adults. This was a crowd we’ve never seen at Q club before and it was beyond amazing to see them enjoying themselves.

Giraffage brought an energy immersed with feel-good vibes and authenticity; something we love to see. DIAL UP has already impressed us with the uniqueness and kick-ass lineup scheduled for January. Wednesday is the new place to be at Q Nightclub for some of the most cutting-edge music you’re going to see in 2014.
