[divider]Adventure Club[/divider]
Canadian duo Adventure Club have been Northwest-favorites from the get-go, and getting a headlining performance for FreakNight is a treat every basshead will enjoy. Christian Srigley and Leighton James have consistently made their way to the Northwest throughout their careers, making their last visits during the Safe In Sound 2014 tour. There’s no such thing as too much Adventure Club, and melodic dubstep sounds like a perfect fit for Halloween-weekend.
Since their last trip to the Northwest, Adventure Club have had a renewed focus on their ‘Superheroes Anonymous’ radio show series. They’ve released two episodes in the last six months, and we’re hoping the trend continues. We’re also hoping for more new tunes from the duo, with their last EP coming out in October of 2013. It doesn’t matter if it’s a production, a mix, or a live-set, Adventure Club is bass music every EDM fan can enjoy. They’re regulars in our region and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

DJ Carnage is making another trip to the Northwest at FreakNight 2015, continuing to return the love he’s felt while appearing in the region throughout his career. The stylings of the Chipotle-enthusiast have become must-see stuff for festival attendees across the world, and we’re happy to get his brand of energetic madness in the Northwest as often as we do. No matter the stage, or when it takes place, Carnage’s set at FreakNight 2015 is an event every raver should find time to enjoy.
Carnage, also known as Diamante Blackmon, last tore-apart the Northwest at Lucky 2014. Between Northwest stops, Carnage has featured at festivals like Coachella and EDC, while releasing several original tunes and remixes. Specializing in festival trap, Carnage can successfully spin a wide variety of genres, and it would be best to expect anything and everything come FreakNight 2015.
[divider]Diplo[/divider]
If there’s a producer who’s had a more productive and successful 2015 than Diplo, we haven’t found them. The 36-year-old artist, apart from managing his solo-career, is also one-third of Major Lazer, one-half of Jack Ü, and is involved in seemingly every aspect of the dance music industry. Born Thomas Wesley Pentz, Diplo also founded and runs his own label, Mad Decent, which has a roster any record company would enjoy. His exploits outside EDM, in genres like hip-hop, pop, and R&B, speak for themselves. Now, somehow, Diplo is finding time to spend Halloween-weekend with us.
Taking festival season by storm, Major Lazer’s Lean On was heard countless times at mainstages around the world. At the same time, cuts from Jack Ü’s debut album, Skrillex & Diplo Present Jack Ü, has been fueling live-sets and mixes since it’s release in February. Getting to hear those tunes from the man himself will be a great follow-up to his last Northwest festival performance, when Diplo went B2B with DJ Snake at Lucky 2014. Another FreakNight headliner whose resume’ stands out a bit more than the rest, Diplo is an artist that’s always worth the price of admission.

[divider]NERO[/divider]
We know we aren’t the only ones who’ve been begging for NERO’s return, and the British trio’s inclusion in the FreakNight 2015 lineup puts the two-night event firmly in the ‘can’t miss’ column. Daniel Stephens, Joe Ray, and Alana Watson are fan-favorites throughout dance music, and their specific brand of bass is as infectious as it is heavy.
They’ll be fresh of off the release of their second studio album, Between II Worlds, which comes four years after their hit-filled debut, Welcome Reality. Despite the follow-up work being delayed a couple of weeks, Between II Worlds will undoubtedly be one of the best albums of the year. We’ve already been treated to a handful of tunes off of the album, and we’re safely expecting more of the same dub-filled greatness we’ve been treated to throughout NERO’s existence.
A North American tour accompanies Between II Worlds, with NERO stopping in 20 cities and four time-zones. They spent the summer touring at festivals throughout the United Kingdom and Europe, and will be giving fans on our side of the Atlantic plenty of opportunities to get their long-awaited NERO fix. They’ll be performing on day one of FreakNight, according to their website’s tour listings, and that makes for a fun-filled first day, with deadmau5 performing that night as well. They’ll also both be featured on the same day at HARD Day Of The Dead on October 31st. It’s safe to say that, wherever and whenever NERO perform in the Northwest, we will be there. We know you will be too, so make sure to get your FreakNight plans sorted ASAP!
[divider]Nicky Romero[/divider]
Northwest festivals, and festivals in general. don’t skimp on the Dutch, and FreakNight 2015’s first phase of artists continues that trend. Nicky Romero, also known as Nick Rotteveel, makes it a hat-trick of FreakNight appearances, following his performances at the annual fall festival in 2012 and 2013. The 26-year-old is a fan-favorite around the world, and has managed to couple his constant career growth with the founding of his record label, Protocol Recordings. Working with dozens of progressive and electro house artists, Romero’s impact on dance music is as positive as it is large, and we hope it continues to grow.
Romero was one of the biggest artists of 2012, releasing a trio of hits in Tolouse, Like Home featuring NERVO, and I Could Be The One. He’s since slowed his release-rate, but don’t doubt the man’s efforts. He’s always performing at EDM’s biggest festivals and helping develop dance music’s next generation of artists. We’ve even been treated to a few new tunes in recent months, including Lighthouse and Warriors, and we’re hoping there’s more on the way in the near future.
[divider]All Gone Pete Tong Stage[/divider]
An entire stage curated by a dance music legend. Again. The “All Gone Pete Tong” stage at FreakNight 2015 is a treat we’ll be enjoying all night long, giving our favorite fall festival the variety we’ve come to enjoy year-after-year. Last year, Carl Cox & Friends took over the Midway of Mayhem stage at FreakNight 2014, and the RAM Records crew delivered all of the drum & bass at Lucky 2015. If we can trust anyone to pick an entire night of quality music, it’s Pete Tong. The 55-year-old MBE is one of the people who are actually responsible for dance music reaching the heights it has today, and the industry veteran deserves the plaudits he regularly receives.
Tong was scheduled to perform at Foundation Nightclub earlier this year, but had to cancel. His previous Seattle performance had come back in 2013, and we’re happy he was able to make it up to us so quickly, and in such a big way. He was just over the border at FVDED In The Park during Independence Day weekend earlier this summer, but a full-night of Pete Tong selections is a special event that every FreakNight attendee should indulge in.
