Making his debut with Armada’s new progressive/techno label THNK is a DJ/producer you need to familiarize yourself with: Thomas Vink. His social media following may not impress you, but the Southern Holland native is currently spearheading THNK with the support of trance phenomenon, Armin Van Buuren. Just this past May he put THNK on the map with his Arkanoid EP, gaining DJ MAG’s (Netherlands) stamp of approval earlier this month with an 8/10 rating for Vink’s intensely felt single Glide. Penetrating audiences with subtly ominous beauty, Arkanoid also gained generous recognition from Ruben de Ronde, who featured 2 tracks from the EP as well as a Coldplay remix from Vink on his set for The Sound Of Holland (212).
Rumbling with teeming potential, we’re all the more excited to dig into Thomas Vink’s forthcoming EP to be released on THNK, entitled Beneath. Although Beneath is labeled under progressive/techno on Vink’s Soundcloud, you can certainly appreciate Armada’s trance-heavy influence considering his gradual builds and trademark atmospheric quality. THNK’s Beneath EP comes with 3 new tracks, in which you can really get lost in Vink’s world of depth on his darkly euphoric single Lucid.
Although Armin Van Buuren gave us an early taste of titled single Beneath during his warm up sets of A State Of Trance 650, the rest of Beneath is set to release via THNK on June 20th. While Thomas Vink is certainly enveloping a trance-heavy production style, we’re still intrigued to see where he takes Armada’s new label, THNK. Preview Beneath below and let us know what you think.
