Beginning our Night
The night began much like any other event, hoped in a cab and headed to the Pacific Coliseum a few minutes before doors opening. We arrived, picked up our tickets from Will Call, went through security with the usual bag check and we were in. In typical PNW fashion, the night was full of rain but thankfully security and staff were quick to let people inside. Always a pleasure to attend events when staff is on point, and have the wait lines flowing smoothly.
We made our way to the dance floor and were met with the progressive sounds from local trio, UNIONdjs. As the dance floor began to fill up we headed to bar area to grab a drink. With most events in Vancouver being 19+, Blueprint hosts annual massives; Contact, Seasons and Get Together to name a few, allowing for all-ages. Despite not having an age limit, we never really felt like “the old ones” and saw a healthy mix of people from all walks of life. Blueprint does however offer 19+ VIP tickets for those wanting a little extra, and an “adults only” zone.
By the time we finished our drinks, we looked back to notice the floor of the Pacific Coliseum was beginning to fill up. The crowd was a sea of smiling faces, dressed in their ravers best and ready for night full of love and trance. We’d been inside for sometime, so our dancing shoes had dried off, and were ready to get moving. Amsterdam, House duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano brought the crowd into a dance craze. No strangers to the dance music scene, but definitely a force on the rise. A healthy mix of original remixes and crowd favorites left us impressed.
