It is no question that this year’s Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge boasts a diverse lineup that will have everyone dancing all weekend long. The 2-day festival will take place on June 17th and 18th, but the pre-party will start getting the crowds warmed up on Friday, June 16th itself. This year’s festival is going to be one for the books with immersive exhibits, rides, and plenty of activities to keep you and your friends engaged.
The lineup not only features some of the biggest names in house, techno, bass, and dubstep such as Eli Brown, Dillon Francis, KX5, Malaa, Afrojack, etc., but also lots of talent from the PNW, such as Alex Bosi, Whipped Cream, and Kendoll.
Many artists on the lineup like Kai Wachi, Malaa, Wax Motif, James Hype, Audien, and Subtronics, have performed in Seattle over the last year at smaller clubs and intimate venues. Seeing them now on the big festival stages at the Gorge will be riveting and we are excited to see how they will spin their sets to cater to the festival experience.
Beyond Wonderland curates a magical festival experience
The festival experience at Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge is unique and comprehensive. The Alice in Wonderland-inspired theme turns the beautiful venue into a magical land filled with fantastical animals, decorations, and art installations. Insomniac describes its main stage, called the Fractal Valley, as “a place of wonder”, where festival goers can “converge with artists from across the music spectrum and prepare to have their mind blown.” Two more big stages, Cheshire Woods, and Caterpillar’s Garden, will host a plethora of DJ’s and will provide people with options of different types of music to groove to.
If you need a break from the music, the festival will also have carnival rides, whimsical art installations, and photo opportunities for attendees to enjoy. Last year, the installations included towering hedges shaped into chess pieces and a huge wooden Cheshire cat with a mannequin tea party inside. Performers dressed as unique storybook characters will roam the festival grounds, so make sure you stop and snap that group picture which will be cherished for years to come.
For people who arrive early and want to enjoy all aspects of the festival should attend the pre-party that will take place on festival grounds on Friday, June 16th featuring performances from Bandit, Frosttop, Riot Ten, and more. There is also a silent disco running throughout the festival where local talent can showcase their music to a more in-tune audience.
Camp at the Gorge for the full festival experience
Camping at the Gorge is always a beautiful sight and is a great way to get the full festival experience. Located just a short walk away from the main stages, the campgrounds are convenient, fun, and create a memorable experience. There are also a plethora of fun campground activities like yoga, Kandi making workshops, costume parties, and other arts and crafts.
