Much to the delight of fans throughout the world, Galantis has just announced their Louder Harder Better tour for 2016. Hailing from Sweden, the band had established successes of their own before meeting in 2012. Galantis consists of Linus Elköw from Style of Eye and Christian Karlsson from Miike Snow. Style of Eye was well-established as an underground techno DJ while Karlsson co-produced tracks for pop princesses Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Madonna, and Kylie Minogue before gaining center-stage attention with the success of Miike Snow. Miike Snow, in it’s own right, gained notoriety in 2009 with their hit single “Animal.”
The duo met in 2012 when Linus helped remix the Miike Snow “Animal” single. Shortly thereafter the duo began collaborating on original songs that eventually flourished into the development of the band Galantis. They began recording on a small Swedish island in the Baltic Sea, establishing a unique sound by drawing inspiration from their surroundings.
Galantis first amounted fame in with their hit single “Smile” which received several remixes, most notably by EDM titan Kaskade. In 2014, Galantis released their first self-titled EP with outstanding tracks like “Runaway (U and I).” Since then the band has only continued to create more amazing music with singles like “Peanut Butter Jelly” that have resonated positively in the electronic dance music community. After touring major festivals, its about time Galantis announced their own United States tour.
Starting in early February, Galantis will make its way through the east coast before settling in Seattle on March 2 at the Showbox. The presale has already sold out, so be prepared when tickets go on sale Friday, December 4th at 10:00 AM.
